Interment will be in the Edison Cemetery at Edison, Nebraska following the services. Agnes "Jean" Larson, 87 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Jean was born November 10, 1927 in Madison, Nebraska, the youngest of seven children born to Franklin and Elizabeth (Johnston) Carson. Jean received her primary education from a rural school near Madison, and then graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1945. Following her education, Jean relocated to Portland, Oregon, where she was united in marriage to Hillar Francis Moran. Unfortunately, this marriage was cut short due to Hillar's passing in a motor vehicle accident in 1948. After this loss she began to make her home in Holdrege, to be near family. While in Holdrege she met Roy "Buss" Erickson and in 1950 the couple were united in marriage and seven children were born to this union: Sheila, Michael, Ricky, David, Patti, Gary, and Scott. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Jean not only focused her efforts on raising the family but began a long career as a waitress as well. In 1966, the family moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, where Jean was employed by the Saddle Club in Grand Island for twenty-five years before her retirement. On September 19, 1991, Jean was united in marriage to R. Marcellus "Mike" Larson and they made their home in Holdrege, where they enjoyed many retirement years together. She and Mike became members of the Bethel Lutheran Church and in their later years they enjoyed chapel services at Holdrege Memorial Homes. On April 23, 2013 she was preceded in death by Mike. Besides her parents and husbands; she was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy Francis Moran, born at rest in 1949 and David Dean Erickson in 1986; a daughter, Patti Jean (Erickson) Anderson in 1987; four sisters: Ruby Thompson, Mabel Koepke, Elvida Harder, and Alberta Larson; and two brothers: Howard and Richard Carson. She leaves to celebrate her life; her daughter, Sheila Agostine of Grand Island, Nebraska; four sons: Mike Erickson and his wife, Kiersten of Brownsville, Oregon, Rick Erickson and his wife, Eileen of Kearney, Nebraska, Gary Erickson and his wife, Angela of College Station, Texas, and Scott Erickson of North Platte, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege. A memorial has been established in Jean's honor and will be designated at a later date.
