Agnes entered into rest on September 25, 1981 in Newell, Iowa. Mrs. Don Waterman accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Billie Wessendorf. Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Carl Bellows and Mrs. Engvert Pedersen. Pail bearers were Michael Sexton, Dean Rogers, Maynard McKenna, Robert Ellrich, Carl Bellows and Jerold Sievers. She was the daughter of H.C. and Sofia Olsen. She was baptized as an infant in the Danish Lutheran Church (Nain Lutheran) and was also confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She received her education in the country school near her home and furthered her education in the school at Tyler, Minnesota. On December 3, 1913 she was united in marriage to Ray O. Harris of Newell. To this marriage were born two children: Oscar of Newell, and Evelyn, deceased. Ray and Agnes farmed until 1948 when they moved to Newell. Ray passed away in 1953 and Agnes maintained her home in Newell until she entered the Newell Good Samaritan Home in 1976. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, her daughter, Evelyn Geist. She is survived by her son Oscar and his wife Helen of Newell. Two granddaughters, Denise Bond of Newell and Susan Holliger of Omaha and their families also survive and one grandson Johnny Ray Geist and family. One sister-in-law, Mrs. Myrtle Harris, and two nieces, Mrs. Majel Perwitz of Madison, SD and Carol Sidley of California.
