December 18, 1876, he was married to Loretta Hulburt. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters, four of whom survive him; one daughter Adella, having died in March, 1888 in the eight year. Read More	Albert Coy was born October 4, 1844, in Milford township, Defiance county, Ohio, and died July 31, 1901, aged 56 years, 9 months and 27 days. December 18, 1876, he was married to Loretta Hulburt. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters, four of whom survive him; one daughter Adella, having died in March, 1888 in the eight year. Albert was the eldest of a family of seven children, who were left fatherless when he was 12 years of age. On march 10, 1865 he enlisted in his country's service, and served in the 195th O. V. I. until the close of the war. When discharged, he returned home and engaged in active farm life. After marriage he removed to a farm in Mark township, here he resided until December 1900, when, not feeling physically able to endure the severe labor and exposure incident to farm life, he engaged in other business, hoping that he might recuperate. But as time passed, despite all medical skill, the malady increased in severity until he was confined to his bed, where with fortitude and a marked degree of cheerfulness, he suffered intensely for three months, when on July 31, at 11:15 p.m., without a murmur or struggle, his spirit passed to its Maker. The autopsy revealed the fact that the attending physicians, (with one exception,) and also the specialist, were mistaken as to the nature of the malady. All that kin, generous, and sympathizing friends and neighbors could do to comfort and alleviate was done. In his death, the community loses a frank, generous and upright citizen; the G. A. R. a valued, brave and loyal comrade; his family a good and considerate father and husband, one ever willing to deprive himself for their comfort. His body was followed to its last resting place by a large concourse of people. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. The funeral service was held in the Six Corners U. B. church, on Friday, Aug 2nd, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. W. Lilly. The G. A. R. comrades performing the ritual service at the grave. Interment at Lost Creek cemetery. And now that the curtain has fallen, let us drop the memory of his faults into the stream of oblivion, profit by his mistakes, and cherish his virtues. "If a man die shall he live again?" Job 14:14.
