Rosary services were at 4 and 8 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. John McCabe officiating. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Edward (Jeanne) Petr of Hastings, Mrs. Edmund (Connie) Drudik and Mrs. John (Gerry) Hajny, both of Fairfield, Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Schneider of Martinez, Ga., and Mrs. John (Kathy) Snyder of Escondido Calif.; four sons, Tom of Alpharetta, Ga., Jack of Grand Island, Dave of Pender and Mick of Slater, Iowa; one sister, Margie of Lawrence; five brothers, Ernest, Walter and William all of Lawrence, George of Plattsmouth and Matt of Hutchinson, Minn.; 37 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Pohlmeier, Saturday, June 17, 1989, at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence, Ne. The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated by the Very Rev. John McCabe of St. Cecilia's parish, Hastings, Ne, Lecturer for the service was John Larson. Soloist: Sid Krovance. Organist: Linda Ostdiek and servces were: Brian Ostdiek, Daron Peshek and Nicholas Larson. Burial and graveside services were held in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Steve Petr, Ric Petr, Marty Pohlmeier, Chad Pohlmeier, Dennis Drudik and Tim Hajny. Honorary pall bearers were: Jeff Pohlmeier, Mark Pohlmeier, Tommy Pohlmeier, Dan Pohlmeier, Wayne Pohlmeier, Mark Schneider, Alan Drudik, John Petr, Larry Petr, Jeff Petr, Greg Petr and Matt Petr. Rosary and Sripture (sic) services were held the evening before the funeral. Albert G. Pohlmeier was born March 30, 1902 at Lawrence, Nebraska. He was the son of Joseph and Mary (Gilsdorf) Pohlmeier. He was reared and educated in Lawrence, Ne. and worked with his Grandfather Gilsdorf at the Lawrence Telephone Co. in his early years. He was also active in baseball and hiring bands for the local dances. On April 16, 1928 he married Lenora Biglin at St. Cecilias (sic) Church in Hastings. To this union nine children were born. They lived on a farm where they raised hogs, turkeys and was also in the dairy business. After retiring from the farm they moved to Lawrence and later to Hastings. Lenora passed away February 12, 1984 and Albert then resided with his daughter Jeanne before moving to Villa Grace where he lived the last 5 years. Albert was a Christian and a Catholic gentleman. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and that active and participating member of the community. He was a man you could be proud to call your friend, with an honest and happy nature. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora, parents, sister Eleanor and brother Ralph. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward (Jeanne) Petr of Hastings, Mrs. Edmund (Connie) Drudik and Mrs. John (Gerry) Hajny, both of Fairfield, Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Schneider of Martinzed, Ga. and Mrs. John (Kathy) Snyder of Escondido, Calif.; four sons, Tom of Alpaharetta, Ga., Jack of Grand Island, Dave of Pender and Mick of Slater, Iowa; one sister, Margie of Lawrence; five brothers, Ernest, Walter and William all of Lawrence; George of Plattsmouth and Matt of Hutchinson, Minn.; 37 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. All of the children were able to attend the services, as were his sister Margie, brothers Walter and George Pohlmeier. Thirty four of the thirty seven grandchildren attended. Also attending were relatives and friends from Colorado, Texas, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Grand Island, Plattsmouth, Pender, Hastings, Fairfield, Kearney, Pleasanton, Wood River, Nelson, Blue Hill and Deweese.
