Pohlmeier, age 79, died Sunday, July 19, 1992 at the Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell. Funeral services were held July 22, 1992 at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence at 10:30 a.m. Father Thomas Au and Father Valerian Bartek con-celebrated the Mass of the Resurrection. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lawrence. Music was provided by organist Carolyn Herbek and songleader Thomas Dolnicek. Donavon Pohlmeier was the lector and the Mass servers were Greg Brockman and Kevin Karmazin. Pall bearers were Steven Brockman, Gary Menke, Robert Pavelka, Donavon Pohlmeier, John Pohlmeier and Lyle Pohlmeier. Honorary pallbearers included Darrell Pohlmeier, David Pohlmeier, Edward Pohlmeier, Gary Pohlmeier, Kevin Pohlmeier, Robert Pohlmeier and Ronald Pohlmeier. William H. Pohlmeier was born Sept. 27, 1912 at Lawrence, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Mary (Gilsdorf) Pohlmeier. He married Rose M. Pavelka on June 1, 1939. He farmed and fed cattle most of his life. Known to his friends as "Bill" or "Willie", he was a man of few simple pleasures, cattle, golf, cards and baseball. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was preceded in death by his son William J. Pohlmeier, parents, sister Eleanor, and brothers Albert, Ernest and Ralph. He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughters Mary Lou Brockman, Deweese, Carolyn Menke, Kearney, Lorraine Buller, Utica, son Eugene of Lawrence; sister Margie Pohlmeier, Lawrence; brothers, Walter, Lawrence, George, Plattsmouth, and Matt of Hutchinson, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Webert and Kathy Brockman of Lincoln, Steve Brockman of Fairfield, Greg Brockman of Deweese, Gary Menke of Paradise Valley, AZ, Lynette Menke of Mesa Az., Billy, Andrew and Christopher Pohlmeier; great-grandchildren Jeffrey and Kayla Webert of Lincoln.
