Stee, age 96, of Clear Lake, SD passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 in the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center, Clear Lake. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1st from 5 – 8 pm in the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake. The Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements. Albert G. Stee was born on September 8, 1916, the eldest of 10 children, to Hans and Eunice (Harriot) Stee on a farm near Florence, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at the Helgen Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended the Dexter School. At the age of 15, Albert began working for area farmers. In 1937, he moved to Clear Lake, SD where he worked for Halse's Dairy where he produced, processed and delivered bottled milk door to door by horse and milk wagon. On September 16, 1939, Albert was united in marriage to Lois Schleuter at the Baptist parsonage in Clear Lake. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Deuel County where they raised their family. In 1979, they retired from farming and moved into Clear Lake. On March 7, 2012 Albert joined Lois in residing at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center where he passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 20 days. Albert was a member of the Congregational Church in Clear Lake, SD where he served on the church board, as Deacon and Trustee. He served on many boards and clubs including: Hidewood and Clear Lake Twp board member, Deuel County Lions Club, Brookings-Deuel Rural Water Charter member, Deuel Telephone Coop Charter member, Weed Board supervisor, School board, Economic Development Corp, Deuel County Farm Mutual Insurance Co. director and Deuel County Hidewood Local Farmers Union #996. Albert enjoyed playing cards, dancing, entertaining and going to the C-store for coffee. He loved spending time with his family. Albert is lovingly remembered by his wife Lois Stee, Clear Lake, SD; three children: Phyllis (Hank) Niemann, Clear Lake, SD, Joan (Ronald) Meyer, Revillo, SD and Ron (Rose) Stee, Brookings, SD; 9 grandchildren: 5 step-grandchildren: 24 great-grandchildren: 7 step great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Evelyn Donahue, Apollo, PA, Ruby (Bill) Pimental, Clear Lake, SD and Florence Rodeman, Bellingham, WA; sister-in-law, Donna (Bob) Albers, Watertown, SD; brother-in-law Loren (Marj) Schleuter, Estelline, SD; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; two sisters; son-in-law Larry Krause and grandson Doug Niemann.
