The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, September 14, 1972; pg. 8 Funeral services were held for Albert Drudik Tuesday morning, September 12, 1972 at ten o'clock at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence, Nebraska. Father John Kelly offered the funeral Mass and officiated at the burial services in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Serving the Mass were five nephews, Rick and Gene Hoelting, Richard Faimon, Bert Schroer and Russell Menke. Pall bearers were six nephews Arnold Faimon, Clarence Karmazin, Edmund Drudik, Edward Drudik, Lyle Hoelting and Richard Kimminau. Albert Drudik passed away early Saturday morning following an illness of several months. The past three months he was a patient at the Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Blue Hill. Albert Drudik, son of Lawrence Drudik and Anna (Frantz) Drudik was born at Lawrence, Nebraska, May 9, 1898 and passed away at the Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Blue Hill on September 9, 1972 at the age of 74 years. He grew to young manhood in the Lawrence community where he attended school. He was united in marriage to Leda Faimon on October 20, 1923. To this union, 3 children were born, Bernard Drudik of Crete, Mrs. Herbert Kohmetscher (Norma) of Lawrence and Mrs. Howard Spade (Lorraine) of Santa Maria, California. They lived on a farm northeast of Lawrence until after Mrs. Drudik's death on October 28, 1949 when Mr. Drudik and daughters moved to Lawrence where he made his home until his final illness. Mr. Drudik was united in marriage to Mrs. Delores (Schroer) Menke on February 1, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence. They are the parents of 2 sons, Ronald and Arlan. He was a life time member of the Catholic Church and Sacred Heart parish. He served as a member of the church board for a number of years and was always active in all church work. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Following his retirement from the farm he worked at the Lawrence Grain Co. and the Lawrence Lumber Yard, before he started working for the town as Water Commissioner. He also served as a member of the Village Board for several years. His years as a resident and his work in the community earned for him the high esteem and respect of everyone. To his family and friends he leaves the example of a Christian life, well lived. He is survived by his wife, Delores, 2 daughters, Mrs. Herbert Kohmetscher (Norma) of Lawrence and Mrs. Howard Spade (Lorraine) of Santa Maria, California; 3 sons, Bernard of Crete and Ronald and Arlan at home; also 2 step sons, Jim Menke of Nelson and Melvin Menke who is stationed in Belguim (sic) and 2 step daughters, Mrs. Wayne Reinsch (Janet) of Geneva and Miss Linda Menke of Raymond, Washington. He also leaves 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Julius Mazour of Lawrence and a brother, Joe Drudik of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, George, Lawrence, Frank and Alois. Relatives attending the funeral were from California, Crete, Nelson, Geneva, Fairfield, Deweese, Blue Hill, Plesanton (sic), Superior, Omaha, Kearney, Indianola and Melvin Menke came home from Belgium the day after the funeral.
