He will be greatly missed. We celebrate his long life and rejoice in the knowledge that by the grace of God he now rests in the arms of Jesus his Savior without pain or suffering. Albert was born in Neerlandia, Alberta, to Hendrik and Petertje Schoonekamp, where he grew up on the farm with three older sisters. In 1947, Albert married Clara Visser. They lived in Neerlandia until moving to Edmonton in 1967. Besides farming, Albert worked as a mechanic and Clara taught school. They were blessed with two daughters and a long and happy marriage. Albert is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years (Clara) and his daughters Grace Carol (Norm) Bomer and Patricia Dawn (Dennis) Nanninga; six grandchildren - Quentin (Charlene), Laura (Dallas), Daniel (Jenny), Rebecca (Elvis), Lindy (Keith) and Benjamin (Katie); 13 great-grandchildren and his sister Rulie Nanninga. Albert was predeceased by his parents, two sisters - Jenny Nanninga and Annie Tuininga, and one great-grandchild, Piper Jane Bomer. A Memorial Service commemorating Albert's life will be held on Friday, February 13 at 2 P.M. at First Christian Reformed Church (10956 – 96 Street, Edmonton). Memorial donations may be made to Back to God Ministries International, World Renew or the charity of one's choice.
