He had just finished his breakfast when the attack occurred without warning, as he seemed quite well that morning. However, he had been subject to such attacks several years and so was unable to exert himself much. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. J.P. Wiley, Methodist pastor here, officiating with Herman Cott, Jr. as the soloist. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, following graveside service by the local Odd Fellow Lodge, of which Albert was a member for many years. He was also a member of the Rebekah lodge and the Methodist Church of Wakefield. Honorary casket bearers were Akin Sherbert, Martin Fasse, Earl Mickey, Ed Eckel, Fred Ziegler, and Howard Montgomery. Active pallbearers were Clifford Yenni, Stanley and Russell Thurlow, Fred and Leo Zumbrunn, Raymond Carlyon, all nephews of the deceased. Mr. Luthi was born Nov. 28, 1884 at Bern Switzerland and when 4 years old, came with his parents to Junction City. They settled on a farm near Alida, where Albert was reared. On Oct. 20, 1909 he was married to Minnie Kohler of McComb, MO. They first lived south of Wakefield on a farm later buying and moving to a farm north of town where they lived until1937, when they retired to Wakefield. They also lived two years at Longmont, Colorado. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a big family gathering at their home Oct. 17th with all but two of their ten children present, together with most of their 18 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends, 124 in all. The ten children are: Emeal and Evans Luthi of Clay Center, Herman on the home place, Mrs. Evelyn (Clifford) Bergmeier and Dean Luthi here, Mrs. Bernice Sherbert, Othello, Washington, Mrs. Arlene Daley, Baltimore, MD., Dale of Wichita, Juanita of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Beverly Montgomery of Junction City, 18 grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Fred of Fairbury, Nebraska, Mrs. Mary Cooper of Burley, Idaho, Mrs. Anna Schwenkfelder of Weiser, Idaho, Mrs. Rose Zumbrunn, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Lena Yenni, Stockton, California, Mrs. Elizabeth Thurlow of Wakefield, Mrs. Hulda Cable, Tacoma, Washington other relatives and friends.
