Fiedler, of Marcus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fiedler, of Oyens, and world war veteran, died in the Sacred Heart hospital Friday, February 27, at 11:45 p. m. Death was due to tuberculosis. Deceased is survived by his parents and brothers and sister. Mr. Fiedler was born November 5, 1892 in Plymouth county on the Jacob Fiedler homestead in Plymouth county. He lived with his parents until the fall of 1917, when he enlisted in the world war as a private first class. He served his time in the motor truck supply company, Eight division, regular army, spending most of his time hauling motor equipment to, the coast. He was honorably discharged at Camp Dodge. February 1, 1919. During his service in the war he contracted tuberculosis and on July 17, 1923, he went to Denver and later on to California in order to gain relief. He ran a general merchandise store at Marcus after the war for two years. He had to give it up on account of his health. A more complete obituary will be published in these columns Thursday. Taken from the Le Mars Globe-Post, Le Mars, Iowa, Thursday, March 5, 1925 Page Three VETERAN'S FUNERAL LARGEST EVER SEEN ALBERT FIEDLER BURIED 0YENS-FAMILIES ARE MOVING (Special Correspondence) The funeral of Albert Keldler, who died at the Sacred Heart hospital at Le Mars, Friday night, was held at the St. Catherine church Monday morning, Rev. Father Rolfes officiating. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Feldler; two brothers, Frank and John, who are living near Oyens, and one sister, Mrs. Mike Weber, of Oyens. His pallbearers were: Nick Goettlnger, Bill Lentz, Edward Hentges, Peter Gengler, Alphons Orban and Lee Hoddapp. Albert being a veteran of the world war, he was given a military funeral. His pallbearers were ex-soldiers and attended in military costume. Albert conducted a store at Marcus. Ia., until his health began to fail. The last few years he was trying to regain his health in the western states. His death is a sad blow to all who knew him. His funeral was the largest Oyens has ever seen.
