JACOB FIEDLER DIES IN OYENS Jacob Fiedler, one of the best known cltlzens of Oyens, died this morning at the age of 76 years. Penumonia was the cause of his death. He had been ill only a short time, and appeared to be improving. However, he suddenly took a turn for the worse and his death occurred shortly afterward. JACOB FIEDLER DIES IN OYENS Jacob Fiedler, one of the best known cltlzens of Oyens, died this morning at the age of 76 years. Penumonia was the cause of his death. He had been ill only a short time, and appeared to be improving. However, he suddenly took a turn for the worse and his death occurred shortly afterward. The funeral will be held Saturday from St. Catherine's Catholic church at Oyens, Rev. H. Rolfes officiating. Wiltgen's have charge of the funeral. Mr. Fiedler is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. Anna Weber, Frank and John Fiedler. One son died about eight months ago. Deceased was born in Heffingen, Luxembourg on October 18, 1849 and came to this country when he was 22 years of age, in 1871. He worked on the farm near Aurora, 111., for three years and on a farm near Webster City for five years. He worked on a farm near Oyens for several years. Jacob Fiedler was united in marriage to Magdalena Brucher on Febr. 22, 1880 and rented a farm from J. Draudt, his brother-in-law, and later moved to the farm which is now owned by Frank Bortscheller. Having rented for several years he purchased a farm which is now owned by his oldest son, Frank. Deceased famed until 1907 when he built a residence in Oyens where he spent the rest of his life.
