Sterling, who was drowned Thursday of last week at Sunset Beach, near Annapolis, in the Bradshaw-Covington Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Frank A. He was the son of the late William E. and Mary Anna Marshall Sterling. A man of firm opinions and direct approach, he was well known and liked in his home community. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was an expert automobile mechanic, having worked in that profession here and in other cities for years. His many friends were shocked and deeply grieved at news of his death. Mr. Sterling was buried with military honors, with many of his former buddies present at the ceremonies in the cemetery. Surviving him are his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lawson, a brother, Leroy Sterling, and his grandmother, Mrs. Melissa Sterling, all of Crisfield.
