Jones, aged 14 years, 9 months and 26 days. The sudden death of Alberta, thus cut down in the very bloom of her youth, was a sad shock to the entire community. The... Read More	JONES—In Burlington, Coffey County, Kansas, Nov. 8, 1881, of dipthero-scarlatina, after an illness of only four days, Alberta, daughter of J. I. and S. E. Jones, aged 14 years, 9 months and 26 days. The sudden death of Alberta, thus cut down in the very bloom of her youth, was a sad shock to the entire community. But one week ago yesterday she was in her accustomed place in school, apparently in good health, and on yesterday it was the mournful duty of relatives and friends to accompany her mortal remains to their final resting place. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, and were conducted by Revs. J. T. Carpenter and J. H. Ralston, Rev. Carpenter preaching the sermon. Alberta was an uncommonly bright scholar, and her loving disposition made her a great favorite among her youthful companions. As a daughter she was dutiful and affectionate and she was the light and delight of the home circle. ‘Thou has stolen a jewel, death !
