Mr. Odette was born June 23, 1908, at Jamestown and was a lifelong resident of the area. He farmed for many years south of Jamestown. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Four Korners Senior Citizens, both of Jamestown, and Elks Lodge, Concordia. He served on the church council, Jamestown Cemetery board, Jamestown Coop board and Glasco Ambulance board. His first wife, Jessie L. Goodell, died in 1967. Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Jamestown; a son, Dennie of Denver; two daughters, Sonia Nelson of Omaha and Janette Sanchez of Salina; a stepson, Wayne Neel of Jamestown; a sister, Marcella Gallagher of Concordia; a brother, Ernest of Jamestown; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jamestown, the Rev. Henry Kieffer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Jamestown. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Blachly & Buoy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Memorials may be made to the church, Hospice of North Central Kansas or American Cancer Society.
