Description	:	Alexander Jones was the son of Nathan Beriah Jones and Minerva Robart. He spent his younger years in Michigan, but lived in Warren, Keokuk, Iowa, by 1860. Alex served in Co. K, 33rd Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Infantry, between 17 Nov 1862 and 13 Jul 1865. While at Jenkins Ferry on the Saline river, Arkansas, 30 Apr 1864, he was wounded by gunshot in the head and the left side. (His granddaughter, Leeta Jones, remembered that when she was a child, he used to flip the hair forward from the metal plate in his head, and crawl... Read More	Alexander Jones was the son of Nathan Beriah Jones and Minerva Robart. He spent his younger years in Michigan, but lived in Warren, Keokuk, Iowa, by 1860. Alex served in Co. K, 33rd Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Infantry, between 17 Nov 1862 and 13 Jul 1865. She was terrified.) After the war, he lived in Putnam County, Missouri, where he met Nancy Elizabeth Allen. He and Nancy were married at the Methodist Episcopal Church, Putnam County, 21 Nov 1867. While in Missouri, they became the parents of nine children: Nathan Alexander, Sarah Ellen, Marion Francis, James Franklin, Henry T, Sherman Wesley, Fred Lee, Alta Jane, and Charles Peter. Alex and Nancy moved to Alva, Oklahoma, where their oldest son was living, and then to Lebanon, Kansas, where Alex died.
