First to Josephine Bryant in 1912, then widowed, to Anna Maebelle Clark in 1946. Unnamed Plogger son born 1888 in Rockbridge Co., VA to farmer Dale Plogger residing in Kerrs Creek and Stella. Planger, 31, Apr 1869, had 6 kids, 5 living; son ALEXANDER Planger, 12, Apr 1888; daughters: Bessie Planger, 9, Feb 1891; Lizzie Planger, 8, Jul 1891; Nettie Planger, 5, Apr 1895; Mattie Planger, 1, Jan 1899; plus boarders: Edward Clark, 24, Mar 1876 and Thomas Mazinys, 41, Aug 1859, all VA born. On the 1910 Walkers Creek, Rockbridge Co., Virginia census, I found iron furnace fireman, James D "Plauger or Planger," 39 (abt 1871); (same surname:) wife Stella. 35; sons or daughters: iron furnace laborer ALEX, 21; Bessie A, 29; Lizzie M, 19; Nettie A, 16; Mattie E, 11; Alice M, 8; sister in law Lucy V, 39 and nephews or nieces: Oscar B, 17; Susie F, 16; Tom P, 12; Hurcy F, 10; Herman L, 6/12 and 3 boarders, all VA born, except for Stella in Ohio. On 21 Sep 1912, Alexander Plogger, 24, born in Rockbridge Co., VA, the son of Jas T Plogger and Stella Mary Plogger, married Josephine Bryant, 22, born in Rockbridge Co., VA, the daughter of John E and Sarah J. On 8 Jun 1946, widower Alexander Plogger, "63" (abt 1883), born in Rockbridge Co., VA, son of James Theodore Plogger and Stella Mae Clark, married Anna Maebelle Clark, 24, born in Rockbridge Co., VA, daughter of James Averett Clark and Flora Willie Terry, in Lexington, VA. VA Certificate of Marriage #22675. Mr. Alexander Plogger was born 22 "Mar" 1888 in Rockbridge Co., VA, to parents Dole Plogger and Sarah Jane Bryant. He was the spouse of "Anna Clark." On 18 Nov 1960, he died in Lexington, VA. The informant was Mrs. Anna C Plogger of Lexington. VA Cert. of Death #30157.
