Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Joseph Stillest, assisted by Rev. J. S. Bruner, pastor of the Baptist Church in Atlantic. Mrs. W. H. Cramer, C. D. Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Cheney accompanied by Ruth Chaney sang at the service. Mr. Patric was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Masonic service was conducted at the cemetery in charge of H. C. Hicks and Humanity Lodge of Emerson. Pall bearers were Paul Carson, K. A. Evans, F. D Snodgrass, George Thorson, R. E Good, and M. W. Taylor. Mr. Patric had lived in Emerson 46 years. He celebrated his 82nd birthday this month. Alexander A. Patrick was born at Bremen, Cook County, Illinois, March 1, 1850 and departed this life in his home in Emerson, March 19, 1932, at that advanced age of 82 years and 8 days. On December 22, 1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Eva Nicholson at Rantoul, Illinois and to hem were born three sons, who also survive him. Those who survive him are his aged widow and helpmate in life, Mrs. Eva Patrick, the three sons, A. Arthur of Omaha, Nebraska, Leslie E. of Emerson, and Oliver R. of Atlantic; four brother, A. E. Patrick, Colorado; R. E. Patrick, Carson, Frank Patrick, Glenwood, Minnesota, and Willis, Emerson; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Laing, California, and Mrs. Adelia Gunn, Oregon, as well as 4 grandchildren nd many loyal friends. Shortly after their marriage they left Illinois and came to northwestern Iowa and resided there for about 5 years, after which they south landing in Mills County, in the fall of 1885, and since that time they have lived in or near Emerson. Mr. Patric and his faithful wife were permitted to travel life's journey together for many years. Mr. Patric carried mail on rural routes out of this city for something like 20 years, during his work faithfully and efficiently. He also served as postmaster interim for a short time and was for many years one of the county's successful teachers. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of this city and for many years active in Church and Sunday school work. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star as well as K.P. Lodge.
