After an illness of only two weeks, she passed from this life on her 90th birthday anniversary, January 7, 1944 at the home of her son, Oliver R. Patrick of Griswold, Iowa. She waas the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Nicholson who came from England to this country before she was born. her father was a Baptist Church. She was united in marriage December 20, 19880 to Alexander A. Patrick in Champaign, Illinois. They moved to Iowa during their first year of married life. About 1884, they moved to Emerson where they resided until his death March 19, 1932. Since then she has made her home with her son Olvier and wife. To this union were born three sons, William Arthur of Omaha, Leslie E. of Emerson, and Oliver R. of Grinnell. In early life she joined the Baptist Church. When they moved to Emerson in the early 80's she brought her membership with her and it remained in this First Baptist Church of Emerson ever since. She leaves in loving memory her three sons, four grandchildren, Arlene of California, Ralph of the Great Lakes, Lewis of Oakland, Nebraska and Oliver in the service and one brother Walter of Hopkins, Missouri.
