In this locality he spent his early life. On November 5, 1875, he was married to Janet B. Robb and to them were born six children, two of these preceded the father. David died June 6, 1900, and William August 17, 1904. In April, 1882, Mr. Moncur and his wife and four children came to America, and the greater part of the following year lived in Ohio and Iowa. In April 1883 he moved to South Dakota, where he remained until his death which occurred May 22, 1913, of heart failure, aged 74 years 4 months and 22 days. While in DeWitt, Iowa, he removed his Church letter from Dundee, Scotland, to the Presbyterian church of that place, and from there to Miller, S.D., where has been a member until his death. He was one of the pioneers of S.D. and during the thirty years of his life here lived within four miles of his first location.
