Description	:	Alexander Hamilton Betzer was born in Ross county, Ohio, March 27, 1850, and died at the family residence, 1326 F Street, Lincoln, Nebr., July 6, 1911, aged 61 years, 6 months and 9 days. He removed from Ohio to DeWitt county, Ill. with his parents in 1856, where he grew to manhood and resided with his mother a number of years, his father having died. He removed to Pella, Iowa with his mother, where he learned the printers trade with his brother, James H. Betzer, in the Pella Blade office. Read More	Alexander Hamilton Betzer was born in Ross county, Ohio, March 27, 1850, and died at the family residence, 1326 F Street, Lincoln, Nebr., July 6, 1911, aged 61 years, 6 months and 9 days. He removed from Ohio to DeWitt county, Ill. with his parents in 1856, where he grew to manhood and resided with his mother a number of years, his father having died. He removed to Pella, Iowa with his mother, where he learned the printers trade with his brother, James H. Betzer, in the Pella Blade office. He later commenced the publication of the Pella Visitor, which he published several years, when he removed the plant to David City, Nebr., where he commenced the publication of the Tribune, which he sold to D. M. Butler. Later he established the David City News, which he published eight years, , when he sold the plant and engaged in the job printing business with his son Irvin, finally selling his interest to his son and removed to Omaha where he was employed with the Omaha Printing Co. for several years. Following a severe attack of pneumonia his health began to fail and he was finally compelled to give up work. He removed to Lincoln early this year and gradually failed until the end came. His remains were brought to Seward on Saturday and laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery. Regular funeral services were held in Lincoln, Rev. Harmon officiating. Short services were held at the cemetery, Rev. Mr. Abrose officiating. He was married at Pella, Iowa, June 11, 1876, to Miss Lucretia Dearinger, who survives him. To this union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters, all of whom are lving: Ross of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Hazel Smith of Pierre, S. Dak.; Rex, Ward, McKinley and Gail at home. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister: James H. of Seward; Asad T. of Seattle, and Mrs. J. M. (Martha) Jolley of Oceanside, Calif.
