Description	:	Enoch Betzer was born in Ross county, Ohio, February 3, 1838. He removed to DeWitt county, Illinois, with his parents and other members of the family, in the fall of 1856, where he resided until 1869, when he removed to Pella, Marion county, Iowa, where he resided until 1885, when he came to Seward county, soon after locating on a farm near Staplehurst. February 7, 1866, he was united in marriage with Miss Susan May, in DeWitt county, Illinois. Three sons were born to them, two of whom, Elmer G. and Edward, with their mother, survive him. He removed to DeWitt county, Illinois, with his parents and other members of the family, in the fall of 1856, where he resided until 1869, when he removed to Pella, Marion county, Iowa, where he resided until 1885, when he came to Seward county, soon after locating on a farm near Staplehurst. February 7, 1866, he was united in marriage with Miss Susan May, in DeWitt county, Illinois. Three sons were born to them, two of whom, Elmer G. and Edward, with their mother, survive him. Besides his own family he leaves three brothers and two sisters to mourn his loss. He was the second of a family of seven--James H. of Seward; Martha E. Jolley of Oceanside, Calif.; Asad T. of Lincoln, Neb.; Isaac N., who died in Andersonville prison during the rebellion; Anna M. Bovee of Washington county, Neb., and Alexander H. of David City. He was a kind husband and father, universally respected by all who knew him, and will not only be greeted missed by his own family, but the community in which he resided as well.
