Msgr. Kaiser and Rev. Doyle of Wardsville officiated at the funeral on Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Tim Bisges and Chris and Andre Dickneite, grandsons of Mr. Dickneite, and Mike Dickneite, Joe Buchler and Jim Radmacher, nephews, served as pallbearers. Honorary pall bearers were Mary Witkop, Marvin Bax, Richard Wieberg, Harry Poettgen and Steve Bauer." He was born June 23, 1911, at Freeburg, a son of Frank and Sophia Ann Welschmeyer Dicknite. On June 29, 1940, he was married at Freeburg to Marie Ann Buechler, who survives of the home. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. He owned and operated the Dicknite grocery Store, and was in the grocery business for 45 years before retiring from Dicknite IGA in 1974. Other survivors include: a son, Alex J. Dicknite Jr., Freeburg; two daughters, Mary Loy Bisges, Wardsville, and Therese Roberson, Vienna; two brothers, Tim Dicknite, Freeburg, and Frank Dicknite, Jr., Jefferson City; three sisters, Elsie Lehman and Frances Radmacher, both of Freeburg, and Eva Thompson, Rolla; and 15 grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holy family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with Msgr. Gerald Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in Holy family Cemetery, Freeburg. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Holy Family Church and School Memorial Fund."
