Brown, the oldest son of Atchison's pioneer and enterprising citizen, Mr. J. P. Brown, died at noon Wednesday, at Los Angeles, of apoplexy. Mr. Brown's remains will be buried at Los Angles for the present. Eventually they will be brought to Atchison for final burial. Mr. Brown received the sad intelligence by wire Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, but it was not given to all the members of his family until Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, and now it is truly a household of mourning.
