BURNS BURIED HERE ON SUNDAY A. R. BURNS, of Agency, died at the Ottumwa hospital last night and will be buried in Fairfield tomorrow. Mr. BURNS was a brother-in-law of Wm. and Geo. BALL of this city and is well known here. He was 84 years of age and never fully recovered from a stroke of paralysis suffered ten months ago. Mr. BURNS is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cynthia BALL BURNS and two children, Margaret and Robert. Short funeral services will be held in Ottumwa Sunday, after which the remains wil be brought to Fairfield on Burlington train No. 6, arriving here at 2:17. The remains will at once be taken to Evergreen cemetry (sic.) wehere (sic.) a brief service will be held at the grave, conducted by the Masons. -------- "Fairfield Ledger" Marriages, November 19, 1868 November 17, 1868, at the residence of the bride's father, Joseph BALL, Esq., by Rev. A. AXLINE, Mr. Alex. R. BURNS, of Alleghany county, Penn., and Mrs. Cynthia H. KIRKPATRICK, of Jefferson county, Iowa. The happy groom came "away out West," and wooed and won a treasure. The rule is to go East and win a bride, but our friend BURNS has a true appreciation of the products of Iowa. May he realize his fondest anticipations. The fair bride has our heartfelt wishes for her prosperity and happiness. May she realize the full measure of her bright anticipations.
