Mr Barrowclough was a life-long resident of Almonte and was the son of the late Daniel Barrowclough and his wife Selina Warret. He died on Tuesday, Feb 2nd at the home of his daughter, Mrs Graham Simpson, Reserve Street, in his 81st year, following a short illness. In 1902, he married Minnie Webb of Almonte who survives, also two daughters (Helen) Mrs Arnold Hussy of Ottawa; (Ruth) Mrs Graham Simpson of Almonte; two sons, David and Lawrence of Hamilton, and three grandchildren; two brothers, William of Langham, Sask., and Richard of Philadelphia, Pa. One daughter, Lillian, Mrs Raymond Laye and two sisters, Lily and (Selina) Mrs Kilburn, predeceased him. Many floral tributes testified to the esteem in which deceased was held. The pallbearers were Sidney Lawford of Carleton Place, Jos Brooks, Jos Gibbons, Ernest Adams, Stanley James and Jack McCabe.
