Description	:	Alfred Fredrick Laschanzky, son of Alfred W. and Christina Laschanzky, was born May 9, 1887, near Fairmont, Neb. He died at the Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Neb., April 27, 1955, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 18 days. He grew to manhood on a farm near Fairmont, entering the armed forces in August, 1918, during World War I. He served until discharged in 1919. Read More	Alfred Fredrick Laschanzky, son of Alfred W. and Christina Laschanzky, was born May 9, 1887, near Fairmont, Neb. He died at the Veteran's Hospital in Grand Island, Neb., April 27, 1955, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 18 days. He grew to manhood on a farm near Fairmont, entering the armed forces in August, 1918, during World War I. He served until discharged in 1919. In December, 1923, he left Nebraska to make his home in California, finally settling in Hollister, where he operated a general store. Later he moved to Fallon, Nevada, where he engaged in farming until his health failed, at which time he returned to York, Neb., to live in the home of his sister, Louise Smith, who is among his survivors. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his mother, two brothers, Walter of Hollister, Cal., and Harvey of Lucerne Valley, Cal., three nieces and one nephew, besides a number of more distant relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Ashby Funeral Home at Fairmont at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, Rev. Willard Payne officiating. Oliver Moul was soloist, with Mrs. A.P. Stewart accompanist. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery with the American Legion in charge of the burial service. Pallbearers were Charles F. Tous, Harry Perkins, John Bettger, M.T. Norris, Preston Ogden and Harry Murrell.
