Description	:	Christina Margarite Laschanzky, daughter of Hans and Christina Lentfer, was born March 9, 1866, near Hamburg, Germany. She died at the Roselawn Home at Geneva, Neb., February 26, 1955, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 17 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of 16, and settled at Fairmont, Neb., which was her home all her life. She was married to Alfred Laschanzky of Fairmont, March 18, 1885. Read More	Christina Margarite Laschanzky, daughter of Hans and Christina Lentfer, was born March 9, 1866, near Hamburg, Germany. She died at the Roselawn Home at Geneva, Neb., February 26, 1955, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 17 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of 16, and settled at Fairmont, Neb., which was her home all her life. She was married to Alfred Laschanzky of Fairmont, March 18, 1885. To this union seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed in Fillmore county until their retirement in 1923, when they moved to Fairmont. She was preceded in death by her husband in October, 1931, and a son, Edward, in December, 1953 and her half-brother, William Gerken, in 1940. One sister, Mrs. Sophia Laschanzky, died in December, 1948. She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Alfred in Veteran's Hospital of Grand Island, Walter of Hollister, Cal., Harvey of Lucerne Valley, Cal., and one daughter, Louise Smith of York; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest of Wilton Junction, Ia., and Henry of Geneva, besides a number of more distant relatives and friends. Mrs. Laschanzky was one of the few remaining pioneers of Fillmore county, making her home on the prairie in the early years of her marriage. She was a very industrious woman, always manifesting a deep regard for her home and family, as well as her friends. She had been in failing health for many years and had been a patient at Roselawn for the past five years. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Ashby Funeral home at Fairmont at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, Rev. Willard Payne officiating. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
