The son of William Fredrick and Lena Benjegerdes Tietz, he was born February 20, 1901 at Manly, Iowa, and was reared and attended school in Worth County. Tietz, 84, a resident of rural Griswold, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. The son of William Fredrick and Lena Benjegerdes Tietz, he was born February 20, 1901 at Manly, Iowa, and was reared and attended school in Worth County. He was married to Linda Marie Hartman on March 8, 1933 in Noble Township. He farmed his entire life and was a member of the Farm Bureau and a former extension council member. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and served on several different boards, and was a member of Masonic Cass Lodge A.F. & A.M. 412 at Griswold. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Dennis Tietz and Larry Tietz of Griswold; two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Delores) Schrader of Corning and Mrs. Jerry (Eloyce) Kline of Griswold; Eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five brothers, Walter Tietz of Postville, Chris Tietz of Manly, John Tietz of Northwood, Richard Tietz of Manly and Morris Tietz of Griswold; four sisters, Emma Goddard of Mason City, Iona Hartman of Griswold, Helen Hartman of Grafton and Marie Gordon of Kensett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1933 and his mother in 1965; two brothers, Rob and Benny Tietz; and an infant sister. Obit: From the Roland's Funeral Service, Atlantic, Iowa-- Memory Card.
