Description	:	Alfred Clark passes away at his home in Albion Monday morning after an illness of several weeks duration. He had been in failing health for some time and for weeks it was realized that his passing was only a question of time. Alfred Clark was born in Easter, England, June 29th, 1858, and departed this life March 31st, aged 71 years, 9 months and 2 days. Mr. Clark came to America with his parents when nine years of age. Read More	Alfred Clark passes away at his home in Albion Monday morning after an illness of several weeks duration. He had been in failing health for some time and for weeks it was realized that his passing was only a question of time. Alfred Clark was born in Easter, England, June 29th, 1858, and departed this life March 31st, aged 71 years, 9 months and 2 days. Mr. Clark came to America with his parents when nine years of age. The family settled in Delaware county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. At this place he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Galyean on December 1st, 1880. Mr. and Mrs. Clark came to Nebraska in 1884 and have resided in Boone county since that time. They lived on a farm for a number of years moving to Albion twenty-eight years ago. He united with the Methodist church of this city on taking up his residence here. Prior to that time he had been a member of the United Brethren church. He was a trustee of the Methodist church at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, a son George, two grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Clark was a quiet, unassuming man of fine Christian character, always dependable and always ready to help wherever his help was needed. He was devoted to his family, a good neighbor and a loyal friend. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. A. Taylor, and interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – April 3, 1930)
