Description	:	Another of the pioneers who helped in the settlement of this county answered the final summons Monday, April 10th, when Henry Clark of this city passed away after many weeks of severe suffering, resulting from heart trouble. Read More	Another of the pioneers who helped in the settlement of this county answered the final summons Monday, April 10th, when Henry Clark of this city passed away after many weeks of severe suffering, resulting from heart trouble. Henry Clark was born in Kent county, England, June 7, 1852 and came to America with his parents in 1867, locating in Delaware county, Iowa. He came to Boone county, Nebraska in 1877, where he took a homestead and lived as one of the early pioneers. About eight years ago he retired from farm life on account of failing health and has resided in Albion since that time. He was united in marriage to Ella E. Fleming in Delaware county, Iowa, May 9, 1882. To them was born one daughter who died in infancy. Mr. Clark was converted early in life and united with the Baptist church in Albion over thirty years ago, and has been a devoted worker in the church all these years. He has been an honored deacon and an earnest Sunday school teacher for many years. He was always in his place at the preaching and prayer meeting services, and because of this and his genial ways, had become greatly endeared to old and young of the church. Last Christmas he sent to many of the church families small calendars filled with Bible verses for each day of the year, which coming as they did with his happy greeting, have brought a spiritual blessing to many hearts. He leaves to mourn his death, a wife and foster son, Edd, and four brothers, Alfred, who resides in Albion; Stephen in California; John in Washington and William in Kent county, England. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Tuesday at 4 p.m., where a large audience of friends gathered. Rev. Barrett, his pastor, spoke from a text found in 2nd Cor. 3:23, a text chosen by Mr. Clark during his sickness. Rev. Main and Brother Poynter assisted in the services.
