They will make their home in Concordia. ***************************************************************************** Salina Journal 17 Aug 1978: The funeral for Mrs. Alice C. Cory, 77, Concordia, will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church, Concordia, the Rev. David Seward officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Mrs. Cory died Sunday at St. Stephans Hospital in London, England, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall in London. Mrs. Cory and her granddaughter, Erin Shelley, Concordia, had been on a European trip. She was born September 15, 1900, in Topeka, Kansas, daughter of James and Helen (McClain) Craig. She married T.J. Cory July 19, 1923, and to this marriage three children were born: James C Cory (1925-2002) Edward C Cory (1928-1978) Drusilla K Cory (1929-1976) w/o Clive Shelley. Mrs. Cory had been a high school teacher and librarian for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Bushnell Society, Chapter AO of PEO, American Association of University Women, Kansas State Teachers Association, Concordia Music Club, National Federation of Music Clubs, St. Joseph Hospial auxiliary, Ladies Literary Club, and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is survived by a son, James C Cory, Concordia; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cory's husband died in 1933. Son, Edward, died in March of this year. The family suggests memorials to the Presbyterian Church.
