Description	:	CONCORDIA --- James C. "Jim" Cory, 76, Concordia, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at home. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Concordia, to T.J. and Alice Craig Cory. He attended grade schools in the Talmo community north of Concordia and in Texas and McPherson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in Jamestown in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in Europe and the Pacific from 1944 to 1946. He later served in the Army Reserve until 1954. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Concordia, to T.J. and Alice Craig Cory. He attended grade schools in the Talmo community north of Concordia and in Texas and McPherson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in Jamestown in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in Europe and the Pacific from 1944 to 1946. He later served in the Army Reserve until 1954. He was in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1954 until 1985, when he retired as a chief warrant officer. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Concordia and the church choir and had been president of the Friendship Class at the church. He married Avis Mae Wilson on June 18, 1946, in Minneapolis, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James C. Cory II, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Kathleen Ann Cheseboro, Lucena City, Philippines, Karen Townsend, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Karla Chezek, Clyde; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Church in Concordia. Martin-LeSage Post No. 588 of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Kansas Army National Guard will conduct graveside services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia.
