Read More	CRISFIELD LADY DIED IN HOSPITAL MISS CORA LANDON BURIED YESTERDAY Miss Cora Landon, highly respected lady of Crisfield, died at the McCready Hospital on Monday afternoon, after being a patient there for one day. For the past six months she had been suffering and had been ill for the past two months. She was born in Crisfield 73 years ago and was the daughter of the late William H. Landon and Martha Jane Riggin Landon, pioneer and prominent residents of Crisfield. To family and a large number of friends she was known as "Cokey", a name that seemed to imply the simplicity and the goodness of her life. Much of her life was devoted to the comfort and security of those she loved, at all times her most prized labor was in the service of loved ones. To her neices and nephews she was a second mother and in one case took the place of a deceased mother with a devotion seldom seen. Her death has brought sincere sorrow to those who knew and loved her. She rested at her late home on Pine street until yesterday Thursday, afternoon when funeral services were held there at 2.00 P.M., conducted by her pastor, Rev. Otis P. Jefferson of Immanuel Methodist Church and a former pastor, Rev. Melvin E. Wheatley, formerly of Immanuel. Interment was in the Crisfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Martin Atkins, A.J. Loreman, Jr., John P. Tawes, Eugene Wharton, Bernard Reese and Robert H. Bradshaw. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Unglauh, Miss Jane Landon and Miss Alicia Landon, of Crisfield. A nephew, Clarence G. Butler, Jr., whom she raised after the death of his mother, also survives. The Crisfield Times, April 6, 1951 pg.1
