ALICE STERLING DIED ON WEDNESDAY Passed Away At Her Home On Maryland Avenue Funeral Services This afternoon One of this city's most esteemed and most highly respected citizens, Mrs. Alice E. Sterling, after having been in ill health for some time, passed to the Great Beyond on Wednesday morning of this week at approximately 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Sterling, the former Miss Alice Bedsworth, daughter of the late George W. Bedsworth and Emiline Bedsworth, had spent practically her entire life in Crisfield, where she was widely known and loved by all who knew her. She was the wife of John E. Sterling, prominent local waterman, who survives. At her death Mrs. Sterling was seventy-two years of age. She possessed a noble, Christian character and was one of the finest and most active members of the Immanuel Methodist Church. Not only was she regular in her attendance at the church she loved so well, but she gave readily of her means toward the support of the institution and toward the ongoing of its great work. Too, she was a sweet, motherly type of woman, ever cheerful and always congenial, and was a friend to everyone, strangers as well as intimate acquaintances. She was essentially a home body, and took the greatest delight in making a cozy, comfortable dwelling for her husband and for her children on the numerous occasions when they visited "back home." Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Boyer, Mrs. Cynthia Milbourne and Mrs. Katie Evans, and one son, George Ellison Sterling, all of this city. One sister, Mrs. I. S. Lawson of Somerset avenue, also survives. Funeral services will be conducted from her late home on Maryland avenue this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with her pastor, Rev. J. R.
