Reddich, Pastor of the 11th Street Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs Hill died at the home of a daughter, Mrs Addie Harris, Hamilton, at 6:00 am, Thursday. Funeral services for Mrs Alice Hill, 78, Palmetto, Fla, formerly of Hamilton, were held in the Colligan Funeral Home, Saturday at 10 am, with Rev I. D. Reddich, Pastor of the 11th Street Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs Hill died at the home of a daughter, Mrs Addie Harris, Hamilton, at 6:00 am, Thursday. In failing health for 30 years, her condition had been serious for six months. Born in Clay County, Ky, September 30, 1886, the daughter of William & Nancy (Begley) Eversole, she spent her early years in that community, & was educated in the rural schools of Clay County, Ky. On February 20, 1917, she married Owen S Hill in the Slip Up Baptist Church, Rockcastle County, Ky. To this union, two sons & three daughters were born. She was a loving mother & devoted wife, & instilled in her children the high Christian principles by which she lived. In her later years, she especially enjoyed her eight grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. In 1925, she moved with her family to Hamilton & in 1958, moved to Florida. She enjoyed quilting & sewing & spent many leisure hours pursuing these hobbies. Mrs Hill was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church, a member of the 11th Street Baptist Church in Hamilton. She leaves her husband, Owen S Hill. Palmetto, Fla; one son, William M Hill; three daughters, Mrs William (Addie) Harris, Mrs William (Viola) Baker, & Mrs Elmer (Della) Weigel; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Louis Eversole, London, Ky; one sister, Jane Pigg; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & many friends. Mrs Hill was preceded in death by her parents; one son in infancy; four brothers, Anderson, Abner, Hiram, & Robert Eversole; & one sister, Mrs Louisa Griffin. Pallbearers were Robert & James Weigel, Lessie Mays, William Harris, & William & Eugene Baker. Burial was in the family lot in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Printed 12-26-1964 Hamilton Journal News.
