Description	:	Funeral services were held Friday afternoon last at the Lebanon Congregational Church for Mrs. Alice Beckner, 75 year old pioneer woman, who passed away January 11, at the home of her daughter in Deadwood. Rev. George Turner of Faulkton, conducted the service, and interment was made in the Lebanon Cemetery. Alice Florella Crane was born October 27, 1862, in Fayette County, Iowa. Rev. George Turner of Faulkton, conducted the service, and interment was made in the Lebanon Cemetery. Alice Florella Crane was born October 27, 1862, in Fayette County, Iowa. One of the early settlers who braved the dangers and hardships of pioneer days, she was married in 1887 to Frank Stone who was a victim of the Blizzard of 1888. She married again in 1889 to James P. Beckner, who died in 1894. Of the four children born to the later union, two died in infancy and two still survive. They are Effie Patton of Deadwood and Samuel Beckner of Lebanon. Of her six sisters and three brothers, three sisters and one brother proceed her in death. Those remaining are Mrs. Lillie Trudell of Deering North Dakota; Mrs. Millie Goodrich and Mrs. Louie Dingman of Fort Dodge, Iowa; C.S. Crane of Ispswich and E.J. Crane of Lebanon. She also leaves eight granchildren and four great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
