She was born April 1, 1913, in Solomon, the daughter of Fred and Etta (Porter)Hall. She married Kenneth L. Ace on Feb. 13, 1938, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1997. She was a homemaker, but moved to Emporia in 1936 to help her mother run the Charbelle Cafeteria. Genevieve Ace, 95, of Emporia, died Dec. 8, 2008, at Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia. She was born April 1, 1913, in Solomon, the daughter of Fred and Etta (Porter)Hall. She married Kenneth L. Ace on Feb. 13, 1938, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1997. She was a homemaker, but moved to Emporia in 1936 to help her mother run the Charbelle Cafeteria. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporia, the Zenith Study Club, Social Order of the Beauceant, Miriam Chapter #14, Order of the Eastern Star, was a Cub Scout leader and long time Sunday school teacher and volunteer. Survivors include one son, Gary L. Ace of Emporia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Hall and Martha Holland; and brother, Charles Hall. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church of Emporia, Pastor Nancy Gemmill officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Fund or the Emporia Friends of the Zoo in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
