Description	:	ALICE JUNE OLENIUS Alice June Olenius, daughter of William R. and Sarah Slack Miller, was born June 3, 1905, in Villisca, Iowa and passed away at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center on June 24, 1981 at the age of 76 years, and 21 days. She attended the Villisca Schools and graduated in 1924, then taught rural schools in the area. On December 24, 1925, she was married James L. Read More	ALICE JUNE OLENIUS Alice June Olenius, daughter of William R. and Sarah Slack Miller, was born June 3, 1905, in Villisca, Iowa and passed away at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center on June 24, 1981 at the age of 76 years, and 21 days. She attended the Villisca Schools and graduated in 1924, then taught rural schools in the area. On December 24, 1925, she was married James L. Olenius and they resided on farms in the Villisca area all of her married life. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the Neighborhood Club, a lifelong member of the Villisca United Methodist Church and a faithful worker in the Hope Circle. She was preceded in death by two children, Mary Jo and Roger; her parents; two sister and one brother. She is survived by her husband, James L. Olenius; one sister, Flossie Miller of Villisca; three children, LaVaughn Gillespie of Englewood, California; Janice Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; and James R. Olenius of Villisca; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Servcies were held Saturday, June 17, 1981 at the United Methodist Church in Villisca with Rev. Clair Kern officiating. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Galen Russell. Music was provided by Mrs. Roger Poston and she was accompanied by Willard White. Musical selections were “In The Garden” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhers.” In charge of the memory book were Mrs. E. E. Larson and Mrs. Alfred Meggison. Ushers were Willard White and Ramon Dick. Casket bearers were Richard Kennon, Harold Hart, Richard Olenius, Curtis Olenius, Robert Olenius, and Dale Boswell Interment was in the Villisca Iowa Cemetery.
