Description	:	ALICE LOUISE FREY, 91, of Loudonville, gently passed into heaven Friday afternoon on October 9, 2015. Her entire family was present at the time of her passing at the McMullen Assisted Living Facility, where she lived her last months. She was born in Loudonville on December 23, 1923 to Linus and Gertrude (née Gardner) Allerding. She was a 1942 Loudonville High School graduate and lifelong resident of Loudonville. Read More	ALICE LOUISE FREY, 91, of Loudonville, gently passed into heaven Friday afternoon on October 9, 2015. Her entire family was present at the time of her passing at the McMullen Assisted Living Facility, where she lived her last months. She was born in Loudonville on December 23, 1923 to Linus and Gertrude (née Gardner) Allerding. She was a 1942 Loudonville High School graduate and lifelong resident of Loudonville. Later in life, Alice enjoyed her life as both a homemaker and a skilled worker at the Flxible Company. She began her career at Flxible in the blueprint department, narrowly escaped the factory fire of 1949, and finished her career in the fiberglass fabrication department. Alice was a faithful and devoted Christian and lifelong member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Loudonville. As a result, she dedicated her life in service to others. Alice worked in the St. Francis Mission Society, the Food Pantry, and Meals on Wheels. Even more, she spent all year collecting toys for children as part as the community Christmas Sharing program. At St. Peter, Alice and her sister Martha arranged the funeral dinners for bereaved families for over twenty years. Additionally, Alice completed countless sewing projects as part of her work with the Catholic Mission. These were donated as gifts for infants and children in need. She believed that every life that God created is precious. Accordingly, she participated in many March for Life events in Washington D.C. and was grateful that she was able to complete to her final March earlier this year. Over 50 people, including an archbishop, requested to pose in photos with her. At each event she commented to everyone she met that she believed in adoption instead of abortion. For many years she and her husband, Bob, spent their weekends at the racetrack selling photos to patrons. She loved garage sales and auctions, and could find a treasure at every one. Alice received the Loudonville Mohican Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in 2009 for her many accomplishments and contributions to the community. In addition, she received the 2009 Woman of the Year award from the National Council of Catholic Women. Alice is survived by two daughters, Terry (Tim) Stockdale of Falls Church, Virginia and Roberta (Dwain) Stitzlein of Loudonville; two sons, Don (Annette Howe) Frey of Loudonville and Lynn (Pat) Frey of Lakeland Florida; seven granddaughters, Anna & Scott, Christian, Darien & Cameron, Sarah & Evan, Jenna, Ruth & Alex, Allison & Adam; five grandsons, Daniel, Ben & Jaime, Tyler, Andrew & Rachel, Eric & Julie; eight great-grandchildren, Kamdyn, Carter, Kinley, Ronan, Adelynn, Jackson, Ezra and Charlotte Alice and one sister, Martha (Charles) Henley of Loudonville. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, June 21, 1947, Robert Burns Frey who died April 18, 2008 and her three brothers, Eugene “Jeep,” Joe, and John Allerding. It is notable that Alice died at exactly four o’clock on Friday afternoon. In the last few years of her life, it was her custom at four o’clock to take a moment of reflection and invite those around her to join her for “happy hour.” Loved ones will remember well Alice’s smile, warmth, love, and gratitude as she celebrated her life each and every day with a loving, “Happy to ya!” A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 13, at 10:30 am in St. Peter Catholic Church, Loudonville with Father Vincent Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Loudonville. Friends may call in the LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will begin at 7:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in support of her grandson, Eric Stitzlein (who has recently undergone a liver transplant) or in support of Loudonville Day of Sharing through the Loudonville Church Women, c/o Lindsey Funeral Home, 123 N.
