Read More	RAymond Edward Peters was born near Fairmont, Nebraska, September 18, 1900, and passed from this life April 26, 1931; aged thirty years, seven months and eight days. He was married to Miss Alice M. Crooker, October 17, 1926. They began the new home life on the farm of his father, two miles northwest of Fairmont, where they have lived ever since. He was taken sick on March 19, last, at his country home and for three weeks everything was done for him that human skill could contrive. On April 3rd, after a consultation of doctors, it was decided to take him to the hospital in Geneva, in the hope that the battle for life might be more successful with more convenient surroundings. But that battle was not to be won, which only shows us that still "God moves in a mysterious way." Besides the devoted wife, he leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Peters of Fairmont; a brother, Clarence Peters of Kilgore, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Albert Lott of Fairmont, and a niece, Wynona Lusk of Fairmont, to whom Raymond tried to give the love of the father whom she had never seen. Raymond's motto in life seemed to those who knew him best to be "Others, Not Self," for he was always thinking of what he could do for them, even though it meant sacrifice to himself. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon, April 28, in the Federated church of Fairmont, under the direction of Rev. W.F. Perry, D.D., in the presence of a great concourse of relatives and interested friends. His body was laid to rest in the Fairmont cemetery to await that day when we shall stand before the Judge of all the earth.
