McCLAIN PASSES AWAY Libertyville woman dies following short illness Mrs. Joe McClain, 74 years of age, passed away at her home near Libertyville this morning, at 9:40 a.m. after an illness of ten days with pneumonia. She was a old-time resident of the community having lived there with her husband on the same farm for forty-seven years. She is survived by her husband; one brother, W. L. Carson of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have not been completed at this time. ------------------------- Fairfield Ia. Daily Ledger Wed. JOSEPH McCLAIN Alice Orinda Carson, daughter of William and Harriet Carson, was born June 2, 1864 in Van Buren county, Iowa, and departed this life at her home near Libertyville, Iowa, on February 15, 1939 at the age of 74 years, 8 months, 15 days. In December, 1891 she was married to Joseph McClain and at that time made their new home on the farm where they lived at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and three sisters and is survived by her husband, and one brother W. L. Carson of Fairfield, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 in the Libertyville M.E. church in charge of a former pastor, Rev. Ivan Majors of Murray, Iowa. Interment was in Fell cemetery.
