OBITUARY- ALIMER W. HOIG Alimer Hoig was born at Monmouth, Illinois, December 25, 1860. Died in Lincoln, Nebraska February 19, 1925, aged 64 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was married to Anna Carlock September 3, 1885. To this union one child was born, Roy Wilber Hoig. At the age of fifteen years he came to Nebraska with his parents, and for many years was a farmer in Pawnee county. With his family he moved to Washington state in 1898, where he resided until 1909, returning to Nebraska, and has since made his home Lincoln, working at the state agriculture college. On account of his health he was obliged to give up work two years ago, and all of this time he has been a patient sufferer, but was not confined to his bed until a few seeks before his death. Being the oldest of the family, many of the hardships fell to him in the earlier days. He was of a quiet disposition and whatever changes came in his life he met them in a manly, straight forward way, and without complaint. He was ever an obedient son, a kind and loving father, brother and friend. For a number of years he was a member of the M. E. churches at Table Rock and Pawnee, his membership being transferred to Rockford, Washington, when the family moved west. He was also a member of the A.F.A.M. lodge No 54 of Lincoln, Nebr. He leaves a son Roy W. Hoig, Fairfield, Washington, two brothers, E. A. and W. J. Hoig of Lincoln, Nebr., two sisters, Mrs. Kate Lamar of McGrew, Nebr., and Mrs. May Hicks, Table Rock, Nebr. Funeral services were conducted by Jack Leonard, pastor of the East Lincoln Christian church, after which the remains were brought to Pawnee City for burial, by the side of his father and mother. short services being held at the grave.
