Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of God, Brookings, with the Rev. John W. Long officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, White. Allen Adolph Schutjer was born Aug. 11, 1901, in Ackley, Iowa, the son of Henry and Bertha (Tjaden) Schutjer. He spent his early years and receivd his education in Ackley. At the age of 15, he moved to South Dakota with his parents. On April 16, 1930, he married Georgia E. Smidt in White. Together they farmed in the White and Brookings area for 25 years. They later moved to Brookings, where he was employed by the college of Agriculture at South Dakota State University. He also was a part-time custodian at the Brookings County Courthouse until his retirement in 1980. he was a member of First Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Georgia, of Brookings; two daughters, Mrs Beverly (Eldon) Aho of Brookings and Judsith Faye Schutjer of Brookings; one son, Gary Schutjer, of Brookings; four grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Kor of Boulder, Colo., and Esther Harms of Canby, Minn.; three brothers, Norman Schutjer of Milwaukee, Ore., Urban Schutjer of Canby, Minn., and Edward Schutjer of Hutchinson, Minn. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
