Description	:	Allen L. Perry, 92, of Kearney, formerly of Cozad, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Allen was born July 23, 1918, at Cozad to Ernest and Mildred (Parkin) Perry. On Aug. 29, 1939, he married Mamie Griffith at Cozad. Allen was born July 23, 1918, at Cozad to Ernest and Mildred (Parkin) Perry. On Aug. 29, 1939, he married Mamie Griffith at Cozad. Survivors are: wife, Mamie of 71 years; son, Jim Perry and his wife, Jan, of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Jane Perry of Kearney; brother, Percy Perry and his wife, Mary, of Fremont; grandchildren, Todd, Darin, Erin and Nichole; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Nathan, Tanner, Abigail, Sydne, Jack, Madelaine, Max and Olivia; brother-in-law, Dick Franzen of Lincoln; and a host relatives and friends. He attended Cozad Public Schools. Allen worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years, which resulted in the frequent moves for the family. In 1944, Allen was drafted into the U.S. Army, and he served in World War II. Following his discharge in 1946, Allen and Mamie made their home in Cozad. In the late 1940s, Allen began work with Paulsen Inc., a job that he held for nearly 40 years. Allen was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Cozad, the Cozad Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 890 and American Legion Post 77. He also had served as a volunteer firefighter. He loved jigsaw puzzles and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked gardening, bowling and spending time with his family. He was a tinkerer and loved being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Arlene; brothers, Neil, Jake and Herb; and sisters, Bernice, Velma, Kathleen, Jean and Lucille. Published in the Kearney Hub on 11/2/2010
