Description	:	Sederburg, Alma M. Moore - Alma M. Sederburg, daughter of Thomas Harrison Moore and Faye (Bussard) Moore was born on June 4, 1912, at the Moore family farm north of Essex, Iowa. She grew up on the farm and attended Center Country School. She graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1931. On March 10, 1932, Alma was united in marriage to Sherman L. She had... Read More	Sederburg, Alma M. Moore - Alma M. Sederburg, daughter of Thomas Harrison Moore and Faye (Bussard) Moore was born on June 4, 1912, at the Moore family farm north of Essex, Iowa. She grew up on the farm and attended Center Country School. She graduated from Essex High School with the Class of 1931. On March 10, 1932, Alma was united in marriage to Sherman L. Sederburg in Maryville, Missouri. Following their marriage they farmed north of Essex until retiring in 1978 and moving into Essex. After moving into town Alma sewed for Fern Stanbrough Drapery. She had also worked at the Bradley Hotel as a cook. Alma was a member of the Essex Presbyterian Church and Essex Ladies Aid. She was a 4-H Leader and for many years served as chaperone for the Essex girls basketball team. Alma was also involved in a ladies quilting group and her neighborhood club in the country. Alma always enjoyed visits from her family and friends. She always had coffee on and sugar cookies in her cookie jar. An excellent cook, Alma was known for her homemade rolls and making beet pickles from her garden. Her family was at the center of her world, she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was delighted when she could make cookies with them and watch the girls dance for her and the boys play outside her window. Alma loved to sew and made quilts for all of her family. Preceding Alma in death were her parents; husband, Sherman; a son, Duane L. Sederburg; a grandson, Darren Sederburg; two brothers, Tommy H. and George Moore; sisters, Mary Bose, her twin sister, Alice M. Marsh and Florence Moore. Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Samuelson and her husband Fred of Essex, IA; son, Gene Sederburg, of Essex, IA; son, John Sederburg of St. Charles, MO; daughter-in-law, Diane Sederburg of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Judy Johnson and her husband Douglas of Clarinda, IA; and daughter, Joyce Kruse and her husband Merrill of Shenandoah, IA; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 20, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the Essex Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Greg Hanneman officiating. Organist was Judy Lundgren and vocalists were Jim Bengtson, John Bengtson and Joe Bengtson. Special music was "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden". Caring for the flowers were Kim Sederburg, Shari Bradfield, Amy Samuelson and Jackie Sederburg. Attending the memory register were June McClintock and LaVonne Tudor. Ushers were Larry Glasgo and Ken Sheridan. Casket Bearers were Joey Samuelson, Jeff Sederburg, Mike Kruse, Matt Kruse, Steven Johnson and Thomas Sederburg. Honorary bearers were Frankie Sederburg, Tom Anderson, Wayne Falk, Earl Carlson, Don Royer, Larry McClintock and Jack Tudor. Interment was in the Essex Cemetery.
