She came to Iowa as a small chid with her family in a covered wagon and they settled in Southwest Iowa where she spent most of her life. She attended school in Villisca. Read More	ALMA EDITH GOODWIN Alma Edith Goodwin, daughter of John Andrew and Eva Hixenbaugh Fisher was born near Meadville, Missouri on March 3, 1897, and entered into eternal rest of December 9, 1982, at the age of 85. She came to Iowa as a small chid with her family in a covered wagon and they settled in Southwest Iowa where she spent most of her life. She attended school in Villisca. Alma was a member of the Advent Christian Church and attended faithfully until her health failed. On November 6, 1918, Alma was united in marriage to James Thomas Goodwin and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four brothers, Vernon, Arthur, Lee, and Elmer. She is survived by her four children, Mildred McConkey and Delmar of Malvern, Iowa; Arthur and his wife Jeanie of Hastings, Iowa; Doris Thuman and her husband Leo of Hastings, Iowa; and Lois Ewing and her husband Charles of Malvern; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 13, 1982 at the Advent Christian Church, Villisca, Iowa with Rev. Joe Tom Tate officiating. Musical selections of “Beyond The Sunset, and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by Mrs. Wesley Lewis, who was accompanied by Mrs. Neal Gray. Casket bearers were Paul Strehle, Jim Thuman, Richard Ewing, Roger Jones, Carroll Thuman, and James McConkey. Interment was made in the Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, Iowa.
