CANFIELD, 84, DIES SUDDENLY "Heart Attack Fatal To Lifetime Resident Of County: Rites Not Arranged "Mrs. Almira Canfield, 84, was found dead today in the bathroom of her home, 101 South Davis Street, of what Coroner John Drake described as a heart attack. No inquest will be held. The body was found at 8 a.m. "Mrs. Canfield, a lifetime resident of this county, was the daughter of David and Charlotte Johnston and was born in Wapello County August 11, 1853. For the last forty-seven years she had lived in Ottumwa at 101 South Davis Street. "She was married to Torbet C. Canfield on October 12, 1869 at Chillicothe. She was a member of the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal Church. "Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ida Wilkins of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Nora Huffman of Fairfield; one son, Jesse F. Canfield of Pittsburgh, Pa., and three grandchildren. "She was preceded in death by her husband in 1923 and by her parents. "The body is at Johnson's Funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements."
