He was born May 24, 1924 south of Lawrence to Henry and Magdalena (Ilg) Rempe. He attended St. Stephens Catholic School. He began farming south of Lawrence. He entered the United States Army in 1945 and served in Germany. After his discharge, he moved to Superior and worked at the Superior Cement Company. He married LaVeta Buschkoetter on April 20, 1948. They then returned to Lawrence and began farming. They moved into Lawrence and ran Ken & Al's Service Station from 1973 until 1988. They moved to Hastings. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and its Mens Club in Hastings, American Legion Post 45, Catholic Forester and Lawrence Coun- try Club Golf Course in Lawrence and V.F.W. Deweese. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Rempe. Survivors include his wife, LaVeta Rempe; a son, Ken Rempe, Superior; four daughters, Marilyn Just and Arlene Bower, both of Lincoln, Neb., Lynette Hofstetter, Lawrence and Kathy Sinner, Hastings; five brothers, Art Rempe, Lincoln, Neb., Leonard Rempe, Superior; Ray Rempe, Hastings, Edward Rempe and Elmer Rempe, both of Superior; a sister, Bernice Kimminau, Hutchinson and 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
