Magdaline Ilg, Lawrence. ===================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 25, 1974; pg. 1 Henry Herman Rempe, one of eight children of Bernard Rempe and Katherine (sic) Mershman Rempe, was born on September 15, 1889 at St. Stephen, Nebraska. He was married to Lena Ilg at Lawrence, Nebraska on April 20, 1915. To this union eight children were born. Most of his life was spent at Lawrence, Mt. Clare and moving to Superior in 1945. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his son, John, who gave his life in World War II in France; his wife, Lena, who died on April 13, 1961; four brothers, Joe, Ben, William and George; a sister, Elizabeth Schutte and two grandchildren. He is survived by seven children, Arthur of Lincoln, Berneice Kimminau of Hutchinson, Kansas, Leonard, Edward and Elmer of Superior, Alphonse of Lawrence and Raymond of Milligan; two sisters, Emma Theer of Lawrence and Francis Dixon of Denver, Colorado; 32 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Henry died in Hastings, Nebraska at the Mary Lanning Hospital at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 5 days. Rosary service was held from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior on Monday evening. Funeral services were held from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Superior on Tuesday morning. Father John Pracher officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior.
