Bixler, eldest daughter of Lewis W. and Louisa Bixler, was born June 24, 1861, near Bronson, Mich., and died February 19, 1938, at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 26 days. Her earliest life was spent in the eastern states and in 1874 the family located on a farm east of Munden. In 1881 she was united in marriage to James Ramsbottom of Munden, and to this union were born one daughter, Essa., who preceded her in death at the age of less than four years, and three sons. They made their home on the same farm until death took each away, her husband preceding her in death in 1931. She was a charter member of the Narka Presbyterian church remaining a member and giving of her means to its support as long as she lived. Her real life work was at the Ida Chapel where she always gave of the best she had, being superintendent and teacher many years. No one could ever love their church more than she did this little church. She never ceased to grieve over its burning. She was always ready with a helping hand, to help with anything that was lifting to mankind. Many have said they owed very much to her for their start in Christian life. She was an ardent member of the W.C.T.U. She was also a great lover of flowers, music and a home loving mother. One of her last requests was that her funeral services be mostly music. Her departing leaves the three sons, Ralph, Glenn, and Merle all of Munden; two foster daughters, Mrs. Inez Burchetts of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Myrtle Rhine of Haddam; three grandsons, Ival of Dallas, Tex., Alvin and Hal of Munden and five foster grandchildren. She lived a life that should be a help to the younger generation and her passing will not only be missed by relatives, but by her community. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 in the Methodist church in Munden conducted by the Rev. W.S. Smalley of Narka and assisted by the Rev. F.L. Courter of Munden. Interment was made in the Ida cemetery.
